  2. Click the airplane icon below your post to open the share menu.
  3. Click on "Add Post to Your Story."
  4. To share this post, click on "Your Story" at the bottom left corner.

How to Share Insta Memories on Your Story

Instagram also gives you the option to share memories to your story.  Memories are posts that have been archived. These posts can be recovered to share at a later date. So if you have any archived posts, you can easily share them as a story by following these simple steps:

  1. Launch the Instagram app on your device and select ‘settings’ at the top right.
  2. Click on "Archive" to reveal all your archived posts.
  3. Expand the drop-down menu at the top and then click on "Stories Archive."
  4. Scroll through your memories, select the post you want to share, and tap the "Share" button at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Click the "Send To" option at the bottom right corner of the screen and then select "Your Story."

  6. Once you are done writing the caption, click on "Your Story" at the bottom left corner of the window.

How to Share an Insta Post with Specific Users on Your Story 

While you can publicly share an Instagram post with everyone, including your followers and those who are not following you, Instagram also allows you to share posts with your close friends. So if you don’t want to send a post as a DM to select users you can also share the post as a story which can only be seen by the people you have selected. 

However, before you can use this feature, you must have created a private group of select users. Once that is done then you can follow these steps below:

  4. Click on the close friends Icon to create a new group if you haven’t done so already.  You’ll find it on the top right side of the add post to your story option.
